Ingredients & Direction
- 1 blood orange
- 1 tsp beet root powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp ashwagandha powder (or tincture works too)
- a punch of ginger (helps with turmeric absorption)
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
- 1-2 ice cubes (optional)
Put all the ingredient in the blender and … blend! (I know, crazy right?)
Wondering what brands I use? I LOVE New Earth Organics and I used their beet powder and ginger in this recipe. They are a fabulous local line and it’s run by very wise and very kind people, which is important to me. Botanica is another Canadian company that I love to support. Their organic, vegan protein is a fantastic, clean protein product free of pea protein and absent of sweeteners making it prefect for mixing into recipes. They also carry ashwagandha in tincture and pill form. The ashwagandha that I used in this recipe is from Organic Traditions, I also used their turmeric. They have made organic superfoods accessible, are easy to find and are mindful of processing methods to maintain medicinal properties (unlike purchasing turmeric or beet powder from your regular spice section, for example).
